In addition to the monkeys, other animals such as deer and the most beautiful tropical birds live here. The park also has a beautiful flora and fauna with the most beautiful colorful flowers.

Monkey Forest is home to countless tame monkeys. The approximately 600 monkeys live in 5 different groups. The monkeys are mainly active during the day and are used to people. So they will come close. Watch your food, because you can grab it right out of your hand if you’re not careful. Other items, such as caps, sunglasses, telephones and cameras, are also not safe with these cheeky critters. They even specialize in pickpocketing, so be warned.

There are also three Hindu temples in Monkey Forest. The forest and the monkeys are very important spiritually for the local Hindu community. Because harmony between man and nature is so important to the Hindu community, this is an important location. In the southwest of the park is the Pura Dalem Agung temple. This temple has a breathtaking setting that would fit in a movie. In addition, you will find the Pura Beiji in the northwest and the Pura Prajapati in the northeast. The temples were built in the 14th century and are still used daily by the local residents to this day.
